
Thistle Dunsmuir is a queer, non-binary writer and editor residing on the traditional, unceded territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən speaking people. They write both fiction and poetry, with a focus on identity, mental health and healing. Their work has appeared in Vagabond City Press, the Q&A Queerzine, Queer Toronto Literary Magazine, and Sea and Cedar Magazine. They were a feature poet at Tongues of Fire in 2025 and performed at Pride in the Word in 2024 and 2025.
As an editor, Thistle has a sharp eye for detail and consistency. Retaining and highlighting their authors’ rich individual voices is important to them, and they strive to bring out these voices while polishing their work until it shines. Thistle has their Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Victoria and is currently working as an editor with Hansard at the Legislative Assembly of B.C.
